Porcelain Veneers View Photos

"When I was young, I needed braces but they were too expensive.  As I got older, my teeth yellowed from the fluoride in the city water.  I hated the way my teeth looked so much that I rarely smiled.  A couple of years ago, a dentist and lawyer friend suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Colquitt.  I did and Dr. Colquitt designed Invisalign braces to correct my crooked teeth.  Once my teeth were straight, he applied veneers to my upper teeth.  This has totally changed my appearance and now I don't hesitate to smile.  I receive many compliments.  My wife is happy that now I smile in photos and now she is a patient of Dr. Colquitt's as well.  I am very pleased with my dental care and my relationship with Dr. Colquitt and his staff."  - Craig

Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory.  They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile.  They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating many dental conditions.

They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.

Reasons for porcelain veneers:

  • Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile.
  • Crooked teeth.
  • Misshapen teeth.
  • Severely discolored or stained teeth.
  • Teeth that are too small or large.
  • Unwanted or uneven spaces.
  • Worn or chipped teeth.

What does getting porcelain veneers involve?

Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure.  The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer.  An impression of the teeth is taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen by you and Dr. Colquitt.  On the second visit the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond.  Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.

Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new veneers.

"When I was younger, a biking accident caused the loss of three front teeth.  This meant that I had to wear a bridge.  Dr. Colquitt designed a new bridge for me.  The others I had were always too thick but the one he designed had a more natural style.  I also had porcelain veneers placed on my upper teeth and have my bottom teeth laser-whitened.  I now get more compliments on my smiile than ever before.  The results are beautiful, functional teeth.  Now that's something to smile about!" - Dawn
